Hanoi to Sapa

Pick up at Somerset West Point, Hanoi, and depart for Sapa by private vehicle. The drive covers approximately 250 km along Vietnam's longest highway, taking around 7 hours. On the way through Lao Cai province, the group stops at Milestone 102 at the Lao Cai International Border Gate for photos.

Afternoon

Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to conquer O Quy Ho Pass, one of the Four Great Mountain Passes of Northern Vietnam. Stop at the summit for memorable photos at the pass and the Heaven Gate. Visit the Rong May Glass Bridge, a transparent bridge suspended high above the valley that offers thrilling views and a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding landscape.

Evening

Dinner at a local restaurant. Check into the hotel. Free time to explore Sapa town.

Fansipan Summit and Return to Hanoi

Morning

Breakfast at the hotel. Head to Sun World Fansipan Legend for a full mountain experience. Board the Muong Hoa luxury train, the most modern in Vietnam, and enjoy aerial views of the Muong Hoa Valley terraced rice fields through panoramic windows. Alight at Hoang Lien Station and take the Fansipan cable car, a double Guinness World Record holder, up toward the summit. Continue on the Do Quyen mountain train, which winds through a tunnel beneath the Great Buddha statue, to reach the top.

Hike to Thanh Van Dac Lo and Bich Van Zen Temple, then stand at the peak of Fansipan, the Roof of Indochina. Visit Tam Thanh Mau Temple and the Lower Pagoda, and take photos at the Fansipan flagpole. Cable car, mountain train, and luxury train tickets are all included.

Afternoon

Lunch at a local restaurant near the mountain. Drive back to Hanoi and check into the hotel.

Hanoi to Ha Long Bay 3-Star Cruise

Morning

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Transfer to Ha Long Bay, approximately 160 km or a 3.5-hour drive east of Hanoi. Pass through the rural Red River Delta with opportunities to photograph Vietnamese farmers working in the paddy fields and stop to admire the local scenery. Arrive in Ha Long City at around 11:30 AM and board your 3-star cruise, marking the start of your journey across the bay.

Afternoon

Settle in with welcome drinks and enjoy lunch served in the on-board restaurant. Receive a briefing on the itinerary and safety policies. Head out by transfer boat to Sung Sot Cave, one of Ha Long Bay's most spectacular caves, first discovered by French explorers in 1901.

Guests who prefer to stay on board can enjoy the cruise facilities. As the day winds down, head to the sky bar for sunset happy hour, savour canapes and your choice of drinks as the sun dips between the limestone peaks.

Ha Long Bay to Hanoi

Rise early to watch the sunrise over Heritage Bay from the sundeck. Start the morning with optional meditation or fitness exercises on board. Enjoy a light breakfast in the restaurant, then board a speedboat to Luon Cave on the north-eastern side of Bo Hon Island, where you can explore the cave by traditional bamboo rowing boat. Return to the cruise and check out at the reception desk. Enjoy a brunch buffet as the cruise sails back toward the port.

Afternoon

Disembark and transfer back to Hanoi. Enjoy a city tour visiting the Temple of Literature, the French Quarter, Ngoc Son Temple on Hoan Kiem Lake (accessed via the iconic red Huc Bridge), Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace and Garden, the House on Stilts, and One Pillar Pagoda. Finish with free time to shop at Trang Tien Plaza, the Old Quarter, or Dong Xuan Market before heading home.
